Continuous Office

Competition Managed by: Hanaoka Ikuya

The proposal aims to extend the capacity of minimal surface form finding to design multi-level structures that are topologically created one continuous surface.

Coupling the soft system with a moment frame exoskeleton which serves both as the supporting structure and as the climate barrier, this prototype effectively flips the relationship between the skin and the structure since modernism.

The column-free interior is expressive with its undulating floor, on which programs are organized by the level of openness and topography change; the façade, on the other hand, is mute and recedes to the background.
